Light and fire

-------------------------------------------------------
Light and fire 26.08.10
-------------------------------------------------------

A being of light
Looks so beautiful, pure
So innocent and harmless
Tempting the fingers of
Greed, lust and darkness,
Since eternity
They try to pull it down
In the land of darkness
Sometimes to have them
Sometimes to extinguish
They reach out again and again.

Oh they do succeed
Sometimes to pull stars to earth
In their lair of darkness
Sometimes the light extinguishes
Dies in the clutches of darkness
Sometimes, when they are wrong
They pull down someone too strong
It burns them with its fury
Playing with light is harmless
Playing with fire is death.

------------------------------------------------------
Don’t pull down a star 19.10.2010
-----------------------------------------------------

Don’t pull down a star
The blissful light
Shining up above
It will come down as fire
To burn you to ashes
You will disappear
In a single flicker
Won’t even know what happened.

ego

No my love,
Its not your love
That wants to change me
To mould me completely.

Its your ego that’s talking
Your ego wants control
To twist and turn me
Around your little finger.

I love you its true my love
But my love is not blind
It is open as sky
It sees every thing and soaks.

It knows if I change
Bend myself, lie down in dust
You will still want to change me
Or, you will reject me.

God’s children

We all are God’s children
We were meant to walk tall.
No one has a right
To make you feel defied
Make you feel second best
Make you crawl.
Never let anyone
Play with your dignity.

Don’t let any one browbeat you
Make you feel second best
If someone does
Just turn and walk away
Everyone can’t fight back
Cant settle scores of insult
By sword or by merciless tongue
But we can always ignore a crook.

Protecting dignity

Don’t be sad if you can’t smile
When someone makes you feel bad
That’s nothing to be ashamed about
That’s called our dignity.

A feeling to be respected
By us and by others
If someone fails to do that
It’s quite a big failure.

Never make another soul
Feel bad without any reason
For life is too short
To be spent hurting each other.

Never let anyone else
Make you feel second best
If you cant defend your right
It’s alright to walk away.

Death of an angel

I used to see a little angel
Sitting under a tree
Playing with flowers
Running after butterflies.

Months passed away
I did not see her
Then one sad evening
I saw her shadow again.

It was her, or was it?
Where was that angel?
The playful, innocent one?
Who always loved and played?

I saw a sad woman
Who has lost her wings,
And along with that
Every thing I loved.

“You don’t know? Do you?”
A friend queried me.
“A prince fell in love with her.
But was too wary of her nature.”

“He thought she laughed too much,
He thought she was too naïve
Too playful and childish
Too innocent to be queen.”

“So he twisted and tainted her
Till she became like now
Then he got fed up with her
And married someone new.”
