So many times we meet them
In the up and down of life
People who want to hurt us
Without any reason at all.
Their weapons are cruel words
Taunts, harsh, bitter criticism
Unnecessary, insulting words
Just wanting to see us flinch.
They don’t usually have
Any thing personal against any one
All they want is someone to hurt
And vent out their bottled emotions.
Next time you meet a person like this
Close your eyes and tell yourself
I am not taking any of the words
You gifted to me, they are returned.
